Some exciting news for next summer: PDX Pan has been booked to perform at the 2027 Wasco County Fair in Tygh Valley! We’ll be playing a midday set on Saturday, August 21st as a duo, with steel drum paired with piano.
One thing we love about shows like this is giving people who may have never heard live steel drums the chance to enjoy those sounds for the first time.
There’s something about steel drums at a summer fair that just works. Between the livestock barns, the carnival rides and the food booths, a set of bright, sunny island grooves will give people a reason to grab a lemonade, find a spot in the shade and stay a while. Expect Caribbean classics, familiar favorites and plenty of good vibes.
We’re really looking forward to heading out past the Gorge to Tygh Valley to play for the Wasco County community. If you’ll be at the fair, come find us at the stage and say hello!
Booking a fair, festival or community event?
Steel drum music is a natural fit for outdoor events of every size. PDX Pan performs as a solo act, a duo (steel drum with piano or guitar) or a full band with bass and drums, so we can match your stage, your crowd and your budget. We’ve played corporate events for Nike, Intel and HP, senior living communities around Portland, and a wide range of private parties and festivals, and as this booking shows, we’re happy to hit the road for events outside the Portland metro area.
